Her dear spouse, St. Joseph, came
to salute Her? Who can ever
describe the joy which the holy patriarch felt at seeing his Spouse so
triumphantly enter Heaven as
its Queen? With what tenderness must he have addressed Her, who had been Her
spouse, and who had
been privileged by that relationship to assist Her on earth in the holy
Childhood of the Eternal
Word; who with Her had seen their divine Child lying on straw in a manger, who
had carried Him so
often in his arms, and who with Her had seen Him living poor and despised in the
shop of Nazareth!
