thy life for Me? Amen, amen I say to thee, Peter, that today, even in
this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest Me."
But Peter spoke the more vehemently: "Yea, although I should die together with Thee, I will not

Jesus' Interior Prayer and Lamentation

Set Me, O Lord, a law in Thy way, and guide Me in the right
path, because of My enemies. In Thy sight are all they that afflict Me.
Let all that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee, and let such as love Thy salvation say always:
"The Lord be magnified." But I am a beggar, and poor. The Lord is careful for Me: Thou art My
helper and My protector. O My God, be not slack.
