The First Sorrowful Mystery - The Agony in the Garden
CHAPTER 4
The New Commandment of
Love.
When he therefore was gone out, Jesus said: "Now is the Son of Man glorified,
and God is glorified
in Him. If God be glorified in Him. God also will glorify Him in Himself; and
immediately will He glorify Him.
"Little children, yet a
little while I am with you. You shall seek Me, and as I said to the Jews:
'Whither I go you cannot come;' so I say to you now.
''A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another, as I have loved

Simon Peter saith to
Him: "Lord, whither goest Thou?" Jesus answered, "Whither I go, thou canst
not follow Me now; but thou shalt follow hereafter," Peter saith to Him: "Why

now? "
And the Lord said,
"Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as
wheat. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not. And thou, being once
converted,
confirm thy brethren,"
And Peter answering,
said to Him: "Lord, although all shall be scandalized in Thee, yet not I. I
will never be scandalized. I am ready to go with Thee, both into prison and to
death. I will lay
down my life for Thee:' Jesus answered him: "Wilt thou lay down
